Jim Davis
For more than five decades, Jim has fine-tuned the art of writing and helped countless people find their voice. As a content editor for 35 years at the Daily Herald — managing its DuPage and Fox Valley editions and writing a weekly column for over two decades — Jim has an unmatched ability to take your raw memories and shape them into something truly worth reading.
Since retiring in 2017, Jim has continued doing what he loves most — freelance writing and editing. He has worked on memoirs, romance novels, Young Adult fiction, and everything in between, helping everyday people and first-time authors bring their stories to life. He is also a proud member of the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Margaret Brady
Since 1999, Margaret has conducted life story interviews across the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. With a doctorate in curriculum and instruction specializing in writing life stories, she has taught at Elgin Community College, Judson University, North Park University, Northern Illinois University, and the Wesley Institute for Worship in Sydney, Australia.
Margaret has a rare gift — she makes people feel safe enough to share the stories they've never told anyone.
“We don't just edit words.
We preserve voices.”
